Matt Boone
Record

Employee #18 at Openpath. FP&A across a $1.5B portfolio at Motorola. Co-owner of Epic Mountain.

Openpath became part of Avigilon Alta, and Alta became part of the twelve-company Video Security portfolio. The dates overlap because the scope kept widening.
Openpath Security
Head of Finance, HR, Legal & Operations
pre-revenue → $300M exit · $14M trailing revenue, 135% year over year at sale
Employee #18, pre-revenue, no finance function yet. I built finance, HR, legal, supply chain and operations from nothing, grew the team from twenty to eighty-four, and ran the finance and board relationship through a $36M Series C from Greycroft, Emergence Capital and Sorenson Capital, then the $300M sale to Motorola Solutions. The systems I put in are still running, five years and an acquisition later.
2018 – 2026
Avigilon Alta
Finance Director · Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI)
$7M → $174M revenue · $7M → $62M ARR · 24x revenue and 9x ARR over four years
Openpath and Ava Security were combined to form Avigilon Alta. I integrated the finance and operating models, established recurring-revenue metrics across sales, product and finance, and owned capital allocation through several years of rapid growth. I also built the business case for what became the portfolio's largest commercial deal.
2021 – 2026
Video Security Portfolio
Finance Director · Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI)
Twelve entities · $1.5B+ revenue · 18-person global finance team
Twelve acquired companies, Alta among them, spanning cloud, on-premise, hardware, SaaS, services and channel routes to market, each arriving with its own systems, revenue definitions and reporting cadence. I built unified OpEx and cloud-cost governance across $200M+ of spend and more than 1,000 employees. I also led demand-planning and S&OP modernization across $800M+ of annual inventory. The portfolio grew 10% organically year over year.
2024 – 2026
Epic Mountain
Co-Owner · Operating Partner
Multi-location seasonal retail, rental and a private mountain club
As co-owner, I built management reporting across revenue, margin, inventory, memberships, labor and cash, re-established financial controls, and designed a new go-to-market model. That work supported the decision to expand the private club to a second resort and roughly double its scale.
